Cryptocurrency exchange, ShapeShift, has enabled cross-chain swaps via THORChain and Ethereum-based DEX trading. The new functions have made ShapeShift the first cryptocurrency exchange to allow BTC to ETH trades on a hardware wallet.

The web-based functionality has opened ETH and ERC-20 DEX trading to a range of hardware wallets.
What Is ShapeShift Offering?
ShapeShift had these functions first enabled on its mobile interface. Now the function is available on wallets such as KeepKey, Trezor, and Ledger, along with Portis and ShapeShift native software wallets. It also enables THORChain trades on the KeepKey hardware wallet and the ShapeShift native software wallet.
The company has enabled holding, sending, receiving of its native token, RUNE, on KeepKey and native wallets. RUNE trading will be supported in a few weeks. ShapeShift has also added USDT and SUSHI tokens to its THORChain-enabled trades. The enhancements allow the company to provide a comprehensive decentralized offering on the market.
Users can easily scan across multiple DEXs and trade ETH, along with thousands of ERC-20 tokens as well. They can swap across various blockchains to trade native BTC, LTC, ETH, USDT, and SUSHI in a trustless manner. This can be done without added commissions or supplying personally identifiable information.
ShapeShift Users To Benefit With Varied Trade Selections
User flexibility, choice, and incentives are not usually available while trading directly with DEXs. ShapeShift provides these functions to its users. Trade selection across multiple DEXs and natively across chains is now possible.
